Our Zarkana Tickets!

Our Cirque Du Soleil tickets for Radio City Music Hall came in yesterday!!

I suppose I need to go back in time a little to explain: in September, Hawaiian Airlines announced a new flight, direct from Honolulu to NYC - a city that Olin and I have dreamed about for so long.  With the announcement came a special low price for tickets, and we nabbed tickets for about $312 one way!  (Right?! So cheap!!  For both of us go to and come back, it was about $1,300!)

We booked our NYC trip from June 29th to July 5th, and we've been saving up for it ever since!  As soon as our tickets were bought and paid for, we began plotting out what to do once we're there.  I've always wanted to see Cirque Du Soleil in person (and watch my feeble trapeze skills be put to shame), so I looked to see if any Cirque shows would be in NYC when we were - and Zarkana is!!  Tickets for Zarkana at Radio City Music Hall went on presale a week or so ago, so we bought ours.  I'm so excited!

Other New York plans are: to catch a Broadway show, maybe an off-Broadway show, and... that's about it.  So if you have any recommendations as to what we should do while we're in NYC, where we should shop, or where to eat, please drop us some comments!

Hope you all are doing well!

- Kira

  1. Visit me. I live not too far from NYC. ;)

You'll be in town for the fireworks, and actually - I think Pride might be that weekend.

    1. We actually timed it so our trip would fall over the 4th of July; we figured *something* must be going down in NYC for it! Fireworks, you say? :D

Also, if we manage to make it out of NYC, I'll definitely make sure it's in your direction!!

  2. Please make a stop at St. Marks Place :) Formerly a street full of punks, it's now been victim to a bit of an Asian Invasion, but retains some of its former charm ...
Oh gosh, Kira, there are so many places I want to take you.

    1. :D Thank you for the suggestion! I am so, so excited to visit you!! Please promise you'll take us 1) to a sweet shopping district and 2) TO A BAR/CLUB. I feel like one night of drunken dancing with you in NYC is a must.

  3. Oh my God! I really hope I'm still in NYC when you guys get here!
You must must must check out SoHo. There's an amazing mix of both affordable + high-end boutiques! And definitely visit Brandy Melville, my work! We have beautiful casual, bohemian pieces at great prices!

As for clubbing, there's Greenhouse, Avenue, Le Bain (my fav!), to name a few :)
